 Cecil Jones College is a heavily over-subscribed specialist Business and Enterprise College, occupying two sites in Southend on Sea, Essex. The Lower site at Wentworth road serves students in curriculum years 7 and 8 and is approximately a mile distant from the main (upper) site on Eastern Avenue, where the remaining years 9 through to 13 are served. The premises at both sites are maintained to a very high standard, providing students with safe, modern, well equipped facilities in which to learn and, when appropriate, relax. Building works, recently completed, have resulted in an elegant Business and Enterprise centre containing lecture, teaching and study areas as well as staff offices and a Sixth form common room. The latest addition is a completely new, purpose built, English and Media facility, at the upper site, for use by all students in those subjects. The College blends the traditional values of high expectations, order and discipline with an innovative approach to teaching and learning, aimed at ensuring that the needs and aspirations of all students are catered for. The establishment of strong partnerships between home and College is actively encouraged to help all students achieve success and our specialism means that there is a focus on developing an appreciation and understanding of Business and Enterprise – real world skills that can be used when students enter the workplace.
